Analogic – Eva (Luminol Records, 2024)
Trovo molto stimolante il poter ascoltare nuove proposte musicali che osano e rischiano proponendo qualcosa che non sia il solito indie pop trito e ritrito ma che si spingono oltre, sperimentando e mischiando le carte con una proposta musicale che fa della varietà stilistica il suo punto forte.
Tutto questo lo possiamo trovare nell'esodio discografico "Eva" degli Analogic uscito per la sempre propositiva etichetta Luminol Records e in collaborazione con Bluescore Studio e Mirko Giardini e disponibile nei formati vinile e digitale.
Ma facciamo un minimo di storia:
La band si forma nel febbraio 2023 ed è composta da Davide Crateri (padre) alla voce, basso e synth, Diego Crateri (figlio) alla voce e chitarra, e Michelangelo Gandossi, noto come "spirito santo," alla batteria. Tuttavia, nel loro primo album "EVA", il batterista è Antonino Bonanno.
Ad aprile, la band ha vinto la prima targa Cramps Music partecipando al contest live al Piccadilly di Faenza, organizzato da Giordano Sangiorgi, esibendosi con la loro versione di “Luglio Agosto Settembre Nero” degli Area. Il video, che include un cameo di Patrizio Fariselli, è stato inserito nel docufilm su Gianni Sassi “L’occhio, l’orecchio, la gola,” diretto da Roberto Manfredi e presentato in anteprima a maggio presso lo IULM.
“Eva” presenta dieci tracce dove il comune denominatore è la riscoperta dei veri valori della vita in un mondo disumanizzato ben rappresentato dal nome del gruppo che sintetizza molto bene la sua filosofia e che predilige la spontaneità e l’autenticità, dissociandosi dal mondo digitale che disumanizza le nostre abitudini.
Dal punto di vista musicale siamo al cospetto di un’opera che si muove su più fronti musicali come il progressive, l’elettronica, il pop, la musica esoterica e financo il metal quindi difficilmente etichettabile ma di gran fascino.
“Generazioni”, brano d’apertura del disco, racconta della crescente consapevolezza dell'ineluttabile scorrere del tempo e lo fa su un ottimo tappeto pop rock.
“Ave Natura” è una ballad acustica ispirata dalle opere del poeta romantico William Wordsworth mentre si cambia completamente registro con l’elettronica ed esoterica “Mystic Orphic Music” dedicata al poeta Dino Campana … Ottimo il lavoro alla solista di Diego Crateri.
Si prosegue con una sorpresa che desterà curiosità a tutti gli amanti del rock progressivo e del jazz rock italiano con la ripresa del noto brano degli Area “Luglio Agosto Settembre Nero” qui proposta in una versione attualizzata che ben evidenzia la qualità strumentale del gruppo misurandosi con un brano non proprio semplice ed uscendone a pieni voti.
“Milano Magnetica” riporta alla Milano degli anni ’90 e all’indie pop dell’epoca.
Ritorna l’attitudine prog nella bella ed esoterica “Ode Nichilista” che urla il ritorno alla vita.
Andrea Tich è autore e partecipa al brano “Masturbati” che descrive la dolcezza malinconica che avvolge l’atto solitario, un momento intimo di riflessione e abbandono.
Ritmo funk ed elettronica invade l’ottima “I Am An Intellectual” e mostra la bravura dei Nostri ad affrontare stili e generi diversi pur mantenendo ferma la cifra stilistica.
Vorrei sottolineare, inoltre, l’ottima prova vocale di Davide Crateri e del figlio Diego che interpretano col giusto sentimento e passione i temi del disco.
Stiamo arrivando alla fine giusto per citare la splendida e pianistica ballad “Mirage” imprezziosita dall’ottima voce di Letizia Racca.
Perdersi nell'enigmatica figura di una donna sfuggente, al punto da cercare in lei la via per riscoprire un nuovo sé è il sunto della traccia finale “Indefinita” dove l’elettronica crea un tappeto suggestivo e chiude, come meglio non si potrebbe, un lavoro molto maturo, con composizioni sempre all’altezza che evidenziano l’originalità della proposta e che non presentato nessuna caduta di tono anzi, creano il giusto climax all’ascoltatore … consiglio ripetuti ascolti per entrare al meglio nel mondo degli Analogic e per scoprire tutte le sfumature che il lavoro presenta.
Se vi piace ancora ascoltare musica di qualità che si muove su più sentieri e tratta argomenti ben evidenti ai giorni nostri non potete farvi sfuggire questo disco … parola di Redapolis.

I find it very stimulating to be able to listen to new musical offerings that dare to take risks by proposing something beyond the usual overplayed indie pop, pushing boundaries, experimenting, and mixing things up with a musical approach that makes stylistic variety its strong point.
All of this can be found in the debut album "Eva" by Analogic, released by the ever-innovative label Luminol Records, in collaboration with Bluescore Studio and Mirko Giardini, available in both vinyl and digital formats.
But let's delve a bit into the history:
The band was formed in February 2023 and consists of Davide Crateri (father) on vocals, bass, and synth, Diego Crateri (son) on vocals and guitar, and Michelangelo Gandossi, known as "spirito santo," on drums. However, on their first album "EVA," the drummer is Antonino Bonanno.
In April, the band won the first Cramps Music award by participating in the live contest at the Piccadilly in Faenza, organized by Giordano Sangiorgi, performing their version of "Luglio Agosto Settembre Nero" by Area. Musically, we're dealing with a work that moves across multiple fronts such as progressive, electronic, pop, esoteric music, and even metal, making it hard to categorize but highly captivating.
"Generazioni," the album's opening track, reflects on the growing awareness of the inevitable passage of time, set to a strong pop-rock backdrop.
“Ave Natura” is an acoustic ballad inspired by the works of Romantic poet William Wordsworth, while the tone completely shifts with the electronic and esoteric “Mystic Orphic Music” dedicated to poet Dino Campana... Excellent work by Diego Crateri on the guitar solo.
The album continues with a surprise that will pique the interest of all fans of progressive rock and Italian jazz rock, featuring a reimagined version of Area's well-known track "Luglio Agosto Settembre Nero." This updated rendition highlights the instrumental quality of the group, tackling a challenging piece and passing with flying colors.
“Milano Magnetica” takes us back to 1990s Milan and the indie pop of that era.
The prog attitude returns in the beautiful and esoteric “Ode Nichilista,” which screams a return to life.
Andrea Tich is the author and participates in the track “Masturbati,” which describes the melancholic sweetness that envelops the solitary act, an intimate moment of reflection and surrender.
Funk rhythm and electronics invade the excellent “I Am An Intellectual,” showcasing the band’s ability to tackle different styles and genres while maintaining their distinct style.
I would also like to highlight the excellent vocal performances of Davide Crateri and his son Diego, who interpret the album's themes with the right sentiment and passion.
As we near the end, it's worth mentioning the splendid piano ballad “Mirage,” enriched by the beautiful voice of Letizia Racca.
Getting lost in the enigmatic figure of an elusive woman, to the point of seeking in her the path to rediscovering a new self, is the essence of the final track “Indefinita,” where electronics create an evocative backdrop, closing the album as perfectly as possible. This is a very mature work, with consistently strong compositions that emphasize the originality of the offering, without any dips in quality; in fact, they create the right climax for the listener... I recommend repeated listens to fully immerse yourself in the world of Analogic and discover all the nuances the album has to offer.
